H20 and fishing…

One of my Facebook friends, posted this article which I thought was extremely interesting!

The vitriolic, anti-government hate speech that is spewed on talk radio every day — and, quite regularly, at Tea Party rallies — is calibrated not to inform but to incite.”

Incite what?  Discontent with current government?  Too late!  Discontent is already here!  I read articles by leftists and they are fishing!  When talking to my clients I often stated “They are fishing, don’t take the bait.  They want you to react in a way that makes you look bad.”  I say, they have really crappy bait and the only fish I am going to fry are the ones on election day, when I cast my vote for people who will not go with the same ole party line smelly bait, but rather those that have a solid compass and who will not waver from steering the United States of America in the right direction.  Those that still believe in American values and the American Dream and American Exceptionalism!   I DISAGREE with the current direction of our government and that is my RIGHT as an American citizen!

So disagreeing with the current government is now HATE speech???? Whatever ever happened to the leftist rant of the Bush years, which I believe was “dissent was the highest form of patriotism?”

This ongoing slant on opposing views, beckons infringements forthcoming on our 1st Amendment rights. When people disagree, it is could be portrayed as a “hate crime.” I WILL NOT STOP SPEAKING OUT IF I DISAGREE!!!! There is a big difference between disagreeing and hate speeches. Although the current government only has itself to blame if people are so vehemently opposing it. …

I am not some right-wing “radical” they try to accuse of hate mongering or inciting violence. I am a hardworking American, Native American, tax paying, conservative. I am a minority, I am a woman – I disagree with the leftist politics and socialist agenda. Go figure!

The next tidbit I want to discuss is this comment left on my page in response to a link to an article:

The comment given by someone I know was:

OMG is that really all we should be worried about…the tip of the flag on the floor. I don’t believe it’s any more disgusting the the prior 8 years…oh didn’t we already win the war! I rarely do this but….

Now… my response:

Hey lady… no not just it… It’s actually the least of our worries. BUT it is really disrespectful… Most military people (like my father, grandfather, brother, father-in-law) I know would never let the flag touch the ground, be hung incorrectly or any other sign of disrespect. And coming from the highest office (Commander in Chief) of our country makes it more heinous. But I agree, we have MUCH more to worry about!

Now.  This brings up something that really struck a chord in me.  So often when talking with people who are “Democrats”, liberal or leftist they make the assumption, and often erroneously, that I endorse all Republicans past and present, that I condone everything with a big old stamp of approval just because it was done by a Republican.  Now, this is rather odd to me.  Just because I oppose the current leftist government and socialist agenda does not mean I have been pleased as punch with Good Ole George W. and every Republican and their doings.

What I often see is people just joining arms with a fight they honestly believe, without checking facts.  Example:

And for those that decide to check facts, they decide to look at “reputable” sources, mainstream media, the government itself or their party’s prepared “talking points.”  Now, you add up all three and that would make a good argument.  Except, we all know that the media is really not impartial, the government will slant things the way they want and party lines are just that, party rhetoric.

I find this mentality to really illustrate why there is such polarization in America and when I happened upon that great video by Penn and Teller it really highlighted one of the biggest banes to our society and country.  What is it you ask?  Lack of independent thought, herd mentality and willingness to swallow what is offered to you, despite it being a handful of crap.

I do have a deep respect for those who will look deeper, challenge their own beliefs and check facts.  How many people do you know like that?

I suggest, if you are tired of the direction of the country–don’t take the leftist/liberal/socialist bait.  They are fishing out of desperation because what they are doing cannot stand on the moral or LEGAL ground that was founded by our forefathers.

Your actions, not their words define you.  November is not so far away, and that will be a defining time for our country.  Enjoy a glass of water and understand that YOU can make a difference and should.
